About

The Designer

Art and artistic world have always fascinated me, because knowingly or subconsciously, I see things in life from an artistic viewpoint including the technology world. In pursuit of my goals, I moved to Canada quite a while ago. After a few years then, in a business trip to UAE while mingling with people ended up purchasing a couple of smartphones there. Chasing the same goals then moved to New York to attend an art school. Associating with them gave me a totally different angle in life. Somehow along the way I found myself interested in communication art and technology. Comparing the cultures and viewpoints of different societies, brought about not just their differences, but also their commonalities. It is so amazing that as different as we are how many things we all have in common.

As I grew up so did my curiosity and knowledge with smartphone world. When it was introduced to the market first, for a first few years the growth path was very mild or weak. Then suddenly it exploded. Investigating to what changed the growth path angle from mild to a sharp rise as I saw them are:

1- An ongoing people’s thirst for what is better

2- Changes to technology coming up often and fast

3- Their expectations have not been fulfilled yet

I looked to see how I can improvise the newly acquired wisdom for the next explosion. The key point to quench the thirst was to totally fulfill the needs not just in terms of communication features that did not exist, but also needed someone to deviate from the boring path of putting the tech into a black and white plastic box. How about the human soul? Just like everything in life, this too got to have its evolutionary path. Imagine your cloths. Originally it intend to cover you while keeping you warm, but what now? The way we dress could command respect, call attention, and in a way it represents us. This is the roots of what I had in mind and at heart, not just to go along with the evolutionary path, also revolutionize.

I thought a smartphone not only must have character to be personalized to an individual but also it must have the essence of flexibilities and diversifications to do so. Either one of the 22 models would do just that.

With reference to item 3 above, I believe once our personal items are quite satisfying, we grow attached to and will keep it for good. I also believe that a design has to be versatile enough to provide such satisfactions. The features and functions allowing such personalization could be handled throught either one of the known world Operating Systems.

The original inspirations to design was not based on improving what there is but based on what is needed that others have not been able to comply, and the design process started from scratch all the way to perfection. At first there were so many ideas, then through brain storming gathered them so nothing would fall into cracks. They all started in the middle of wintery night, many years ago. I didn’t just think about it, they all came to me. It started with a dream, and when I woke up the world around me was not the same anymore. I was determined. Somebody had to do it, and I nominated myself. In time, the accumulated documents surpassed 300 pages. Even organizing them was a task of its own. I tried to purchase the software and start doing that myself. I noticed it is going to be very time consuming. I looked around for professionals. My dad introduced me to several experts, but that didn’t cut it neither. Eventually met a highly educated and professional who thought he will be able to put the graphics together in 3 days. He did but in 3 months. It was only then that I woke up to the magnitude of the job. For every step of the way looked around and hired several graphic designers and engineers.

A major problem with having the design move along was not just the idea, but the soul of the work that has the flexibility to be tailored to each user was difficult to put on a paper; therefore, I had to explain them verbally as it went forward. Before anything was actually created I could almost feel it and touch it in my mind, and that was my artistic approach in having a realistic and well needed design coming to life. Although the roots and foundation of what is created came from me, but the inspirations are also from so many educated individuals from different societies, cultures, and countries.

A question is what makes a designer so great. The concrete answer is that a design is so sublime that not only it engages the users, but also it satisfies their heart and soul. In my humble opinion if I have to squeeze the wisdom of work all in a few words, I say the perfect level of harmony in a job well done is judged by the compatibilities of its soul with what is expected from it with respect to the surroundings.

The Design

Although the variation to characters of people in this world equals to the actual number of population on this earth, but as hard as it was, managed to somehow sort them out to be near compatible to 22 models. A unit is also tunable to a great extend to further suite the user’s needs and requirements. The flexibilities of a unit to be tuned to a person’s character, discipline, nature, and needs could be organized significantly. It is so that the collection has at least one eye catching, heart throbbing model to offer for any reasonable demand. This has been an on going effort and in doing, so far it has taken about 28800 effective hours, before I could begin to celebrate.

The models are so rich both in terms of appearance, size, functions, and features that the users may simply bypass what they don’t want and just take what they actually need. It is just like any other modern day needs, they simply grow on you. With reference to an old saying “as you grow, your taste grows”. As inapplicable a feature might seem to be today, might come real handy tomorrow and Mr. AMIR has been through that path quite a few times.

The variations to the models are diversified not only in terms of physical appearance and functions, but also even in certain models, the same single one would differ from another of the same model.
In another words, the same model in the hands of two different users, specially after imposing the modification would vary.

All other Smartphone manufacturers would sell you a unit and then depending on the preference, the users have to download their desired applications, one by one and later on. As nice as it sounds, here are what is not so great about it.

1- Unaware of its existence

2- Possible costs

3- Incompatibilities and malfunctions

4- Time and resource consumptions

5- Virus infections

Nowadays there are almost unlimited numbers of thirds party developers that come up with so many applications and features designed for variety of operating systems. In addition to all the hazards mentioned above the third party developed features also would cause slowdowns in the system. This is mainly due to the lack of knowledge among other reasons. AMIR Design engineers and developers; however, incorporate Mr. AMIR’s features and functions not just skillfully, but also with extra care, love and passion they have for the job. Mr.AMIR believes that a unit must be as inclusive as possible to the limit of its perfection and to anticipate the user’s needs providing them with a comprehensive set of features and functions that are exclusive to AMIR Design ONLY.
